• How do I take care of my machine?

Your bobbin case area is very important to keep clean! Use a stiff lint brush to keep this area free from dust and lint. A drop of sewing machine oil in your bobbin case area is also helpful. The deluxe plastic oiler - (a see thru bottle with adjustable spout) works best!

HINTS from Bob
1. Are you using the correct bobbin - some look similar but they are not the same.
2. Is the machine plugged in?
3. Is the power switch turned on?
4. Is the foot control plugged into the machine?
5. Is the machine threaded properly?
6. Is the needle inserted correctly - all the way up?
7. Is the needle the proper size for the thread and the fabric.
8. Is the bobbin case inserted properly into the machine?
9. Is the bobbin case area free of lint and thread?
10. Is the bobbin winder in the proper position?
11. Is the handwheel release in the proper position?
12. Is the feed dog control in the sew position?
13. Is the presser foot in the down position?
14. Is the buttonholer dial in the proper position?
15. Are the stitch width and length dials set in the proper position?

SCISSORS CARE - HINTS from Marilyn
1. Wipe Scissors clean after each use. Lint from synthetic
fibers is abrasive and dulling to the edges of your scissors.
2. Use the Appropriate Tools for the job.
Scissors are engineered for a specific application.
Selections are:
Bent Handled shears for cutting fabric.
Sewing Scissors for clipping seams, facings and thread.
General Purpose for paper, twine and cardboard.
Nippers & Clippers for clipping thread or yarn - Extremely handy at the sewing machine.
Pinking shears - to prevent fabrics from raveling or to make a decorative VVVVVVV edge on bulletin board displays.

4. Take Care of Your Scissors - Cutting too many thicknesses will cause progressive damage to blade edges.
5. Dropping scissors can warp blades. This allows the temper in the steel to no longer hold it's shape or hardness.
